Films and laminates on reels.
Plastic-based multilayer structures for automatic packaging: each layer has a job, from printing to barrier to sealing.

What is a laminate?
A laminate combines two or more films with different functions. The outer layer carries the print and gives mechanical strength; the middle layer, when needed, acts as a barrier; the inner layer is in contact with the product and allows sealing on the packaging machine.
The material is supplied on reels, plain or printed, and is designed for automatic lines: flow-pack, vertical form-fill-seal, thermoforming machines, pre-made bags.
Typical structures
Some examples of structures common on the market. The final choice depends on the product, the machine and the required shelf life, and is always checked with trials and technical data sheets.
- PET / PE: protected print and good sealing, for products with modest barrier needs.
- PET / aluminium / PE: high barrier to oxygen, light and water vapour, for coffee and sensitive products.
- Metallised PET / PE: medium barrier with lower weight than aluminium.
- BOPP / BOPP: light and transparent, for snacks and dry products.
- PE or PP mono-material structures, also with an EVOH barrier or coating: designed for recyclability.
Barriers and protection
The right film keeps out what spoils the product: oxygen, water vapour, light, external odours. It also keeps in the modified atmosphere (MAP) or the product’s aroma. Our barrier guide includes a table of typical products and materials.
Plain or printed
Films are available plain or printed. For printed film, the number of colours, the printing technique, the minimum quantity and lead times all matter: we define them with the manufacturer at the quotation stage.

Frequently asked questions
Which structure does my product need?
It depends on what the pack must keep out or in, the required shelf life and the machine. We start from the product data sheet and the format; then the manufacturer proposes one or more structures to test.
Can a mono-material replace aluminium?
In many cases yes, with barriers such as EVOH or coatings; in others the barrier of aluminium is still hard to match. It is assessed case by case, with packing and shelf-life trials.
Do you also work on non-food applications?
Yes: technical films and laminates for industrial packaging, logistics and insulation, with specific barrier performance.
